The Galaxy Watch 3 is here and comes with a free gift

What's the deal with the naming?

This week saw the release of the widely anticipated Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, actually called the Watch3. This is because a Galaxy Watch 2 was expected last year, following the release of the original Galaxy Watch the year before but was not. In fact, Samsung skipped the Galaxy Watch 2 name completely and went straight to 3. There was a Galaxy Watch Active 2 released last year but this is a different line.

There are 3 colours:

Mystic Bronze (by now you have heard the hype around this). Ok, I'll admit the colour is tempting. As I have already ordered the Note 20 Ultra in Mystic Bronze, I was about to order my Watch 3 in the same colour, until I noticed it only goes up to 41mm instead of the 45mm size. The 41mm Bluetooth version is £399 and the 41mm 4G version is at £439. Battery size is 247mah.

Mystic Black (My personal favourite) - This is the one I have ordered at 45mm 4G. The 41mm Bluetooth version is £399 and the 41mm 4G version is at £439. But why get those if for an extra £20 you can get the 45mm 4G version at £459, with a bigger battery size of 350mah.

Mystic Silver The specs here are the same as those of the Mystic Black version.

What's new?

If you have used previous Galaxy Watches you will be wondering what's changed. In a nutshell, it now has falls detection where the watch can call emergency services if it senses you have fallen, it will record oxygen saturation, now records blood pressure and like the Galaxy Watch Active 2, it will record an ECG. I know, we are still waiting for the ECG feature announced last year. Clearance for the use of some of these features is still pending but the hardware is already capable. The screen size and battery capacity are improved. I will be reviewing this device on my youtube channel soon where there are over a million views of reviews of these watches.

The free gift

Oh yes, if you pre-order, you will get a free Samsung Wireless Charger Duo Pad when you pre-order a Galaxy Watch3. Pre-order a qualifying Samsung Galaxy Watch3 between 05.08.20 and 20.08.20
